How we run your account

From the first meeting to a campaign running and being optimised, and then how we work together once it is. The timings below are the ones we work to.

Phase 1 · Days 0 to 7

Onboarding

Two meetings, your targets, your audiences and your accounts.

Phase 2 · Days 7 to 14

Build

Messages agreed, creative made, campaign built, your approval.

Phase 3 · From day 14

Launch and optimise

Live as soon as you approve, then watched every day.

Phase 4 · Ongoing

Review

Every six weeks, and quarterly once we know your gym.

Onboarding is $750. It is the two meetings below, the research around them and the account setup.

Clients often want to barter on it, and we would always like to accommodate that. It comes down to whether you want us to do the work your goals need, or whether you would rather commit to a longer period of working together. We waive the fee if you commit to a year.

Day 0 · Meeting

Onboarding meeting

Everything we need to know before a single ad is designed.

  • Your pain points, and what went wrong before
  • Your targets for the next three months, and for the year
  • The cost per acquisition we are aiming at
  • Access to the ad accounts, page, pixel and booking system
  • Account setup and tracking
  • Lookalike audiences from your current members
  • What imagery you already have
  • What you can film, what you cannot, and what we produce
  • Your taste in video
  • Who we contact, how, and how quickly
  • The workflow and the boundaries
  • What each side expects of the other

Days 1 to 7

We do that work

Accounts built, tracking installed and tested, audiences created from your member list, your existing imagery gathered and sorted, and the research into your market finished.

Phase 2. Build

Day 7 · Meeting

Campaign build meeting

We agree the first campaign and sketch the two behind it, so nothing stalls while we think.

  • What the campaign is, and what it asks people to do
  • Who we are talking to, and which audience gets which version
  • Your key messages, developed with you rather than assumed
  • Where you differ from the gyms on the same stretch of road
  • The ad copy direction
  • The images we will use, settled
  • The video we will use, settled
  • Launch date, run dates and times of day
  • The backup campaigns, and when we would reach for them
4
Days 8 to 14

Creative made and the campaign built

Images designed, video edited, ad copy written and lead forms built, and the campaign itself built in your account in the same week, with the audiences, budgets, placements and tracking set. The backup campaigns are prepared alongside it.

Day 14

You approve it

You get the images, the video and the ad copy, in a document or an email, whichever is quicker.

Phase 3. Launch and optimise

From day 14
6
As soon as you approve

Launch

The campaign is already built, so it goes live once you are happy with it.

7
A week after launch

Daily monitoring and optimisation

We look at your campaigns every day. Two or three days without a lead and we are already in there changing things. You will not have to wait, or ring us to ask what is going on.

  • Refreshing the audience
  • Changing the images
  • Rewriting the ad copy
  • Changing the call to action
  • Adjusting the lead form
  • Adjusting the reason to sign up today
  • Introducing a lookalike audience

If the campaign is not producing

Campaigns can fail. This is marketing, and we are using judgment and taste rather than a formula. It does not happen often, and when it does we run two or three rounds of optimisation. If nothing has moved in seven to ten days we book a meeting with you, and the usual outcome is that we move to the next offer.

Phase 4. Review

Ongoing
8
Every 6 weeks · Meeting

Review and plan

Six weeks rather than monthly, because a month does not give us enough to read. If we have spent two weeks getting a campaign producing, six weeks leaves four full weeks of clean information to look at.

  • What the campaign produced, what it cost, and what we changed
  • Adjustments from what you are seeing on the floor
  • The next quarter, planned three months ahead
9
Year two onwards

Quarterly

With the clients we have had for ten years or more we meet quarterly. By then we know the gym and the audiences well enough that most things are approved by email, and we meet to plan the quarter or because something needs solving.
