What is GoHighLevel?
GoHighLevel is a subscription platform that puts a CRM, a website and funnel builder, email and text messaging, booking calendars, review management, social media scheduling, phone calls and automated workflows in one account. HighLevel Inc. built it for marketing agencies in 2018, and agencies still make up most of its customers, but any business that takes enquiries can run on it directly.
The name causes confusion. The company is HighLevel. The product is sold at gohighlevel.com, people write it as GoHighLevel, Go High Level, HighLevel or GHL, and all of them mean the same software. When a client's phone shows an app called LeadConnector, that is GoHighLevel too, under the unbranded name HighLevel ships to agencies who resell it. The LeadConnector section covers that.
Shaun Clark, Varun Vairavan and Robin Alex founded HighLevel in 2018. The head office is at 1801 N. Lamar Street in Dallas, Texas.
What GoHighLevel is used for
A business uses GoHighLevel to catch an enquiry and follow it through to a sale without the enquiry leaving one system. A form on the website, a missed call, a Facebook message, a Google Business Profile chat and an inbound text all land in the same conversations inbox against the same contact record. A workflow then does the chasing that a person would forget: a text back within a minute, an email the next morning, a task for the salesperson if nobody replied in three days.
The list on the pricing page, as of 2 November 2026, covers a CRM with pipelines, a website and funnel builder, domain management, forms, surveys and quizzes, booking calendars, email and SMS marketing, inbound and outbound calling, a unified inbox, social media scheduling, workflow automation, online reputation management, an ad manager, payments and invoicing, courses, communities, a mobile app, and an API. Conversation AI, Voice AI, Content AI and Reviews AI sit on top of those and are billed by use.
An agency uses the same account differently. Each client gets a sub-account with its own contacts, numbers, calendars and workflows, and the agency switches between them from one login. Snapshots copy a finished sub-account into a new one, so the second gym a marketing agency signs starts with the first gym's pipeline, forms and follow-up already built.
What we use GoHighLevel for
It was our secret weapon. We're frankly furious it became so popular.
Richard Armstrong, Attribute Media
Attribute Media has run on GoHighLevel since it launched. Every client we take on gets a sub-account, and the website we build for them posts its enquiries into it.
For clients, that means the website form, the booking calendar, the review requests, the social posts and the follow-up texts and emails run from one place, for one monthly fee, with the client's own team logged into the same inbox we are. We built the entire intake system for the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre in GoHighLevel: every enquiry about the facility arrives there, and all of the receptionists work from it. Enquiries went from two or three a month to over a hundred, at about four dollars a booking.

Our own pipeline is in GoHighLevel too. We've built on top of it. Our outreach runs through it, with a reply agent that reads an answer from a prospect and drafts the response. Every lead form on every site we host is pulled into it on an hourly sync. The workflows that follow up our own leads, and the AI-assisted replies to them, live there too. All of that runs through the GoHighLevel API and the GHL MCP server. Anyone can connect an account to Claude by the same route.
The one thing we don't use is the website builder, and the review section says why.
GoHighLevel pricing 2026
GoHighLevel sells three plans plus an enterprise tier. Prices below are from gohighlevel.com/pricing on 2 November 2026, in US dollars. Every plan includes unlimited contacts and unlimited users, and every plan starts with a 14-day free trial.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | What you get | Trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $97 | $970 | 3 sub-accounts, all core features, 24/7 support | 14 days free |
| Unlimited | $297 | $2,970 | Unlimited sub-accounts, rebill phone and email to clients at cost, basic API access | 14 days free |
| Founder (Pro) | $497 | $4,970 | SaaS mode, rebilling with your own markup, Founders Club and partner network | 14 days free |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | HIPAA and the white-label mobile app included, quarterly business reviews, enterprise reporting | Speak to HighLevel |
The subscription covers the software. Phone numbers, calls, text messages, emails sent and AI usage are billed on top, by use, at rates HighLevel publishes separately. On the Unlimited and Founder plans you can pass those costs on to clients, and on Founder you can add a markup.
Add-ons, same source and date:
| Add-on | Price |
|---|---|
| AI Employee, Growth | $50 a month per sub-account |
| AI Employee, Unlimited | $97 a month per sub-account |
| HIPAA compliance | $297 a month |
| White label mobile app | $497 a month |
| Branded client portal app | $49 a month per sub-account |
| HighLevel Certification Program | $97 a month |
| SEO tools (Search Atlas) | $79 a month per sub-account |
| Online listings management | $30 a month per sub-account |
| Premium prospecting tool | $29 a month per sub-account |
| WhatsApp integration | $10 a month per sub-account |
| Dedicated email IP | $59 a month per IP |
| WordPress hosting | From $10 a month per site |
| Premium support | $500 a month |
There is no contract. HighLevel bills month to month, and you upgrade, downgrade or cancel from the dashboard. If you upgrade mid-month you pay the prorated difference.
For a single business, Starter is the plan. Three sub-accounts is more than one company needs, and the usage charges for a business sending a few hundred texts a month come to a few dollars. For an agency, Unlimited is where the rebilling starts, and Founder only pays for itself once you sell the software under your own name.
Is GoHighLevel a CRM?
Yes. The contact record, the pipeline with drag-and-drop stages, the opportunities view, the tasks, the notes and the call log are a CRM, and for a service business they do the whole job. The difference from a CRM sold as a CRM is what's bolted to the record. In HubSpot or Salesforce, the website, the booking page and the review requests are separate products or separate vendors. In GoHighLevel they are tabs in the same sub-account, and a workflow can read any of them.
If you only want a CRM, GoHighLevel is more than you need and you'll pay for the rest anyway. If you want the CRM to do something when a lead arrives, GoHighLevel is the cheaper way to get there. What a CRM does for a brokerage is in our real estate CRM guide.
GoHighLevel review: the pros and cons
What GoHighLevel gets right
One fee covers what used to be five subscriptions: the CRM, the email tool, the text messaging service, the booking calendar and the review software. For a small business that's the whole case. The workflow builder is the part we'd pay for on its own. It fires on a form submission, a missed call, a calendar booking, a pipeline stage change or a tag, and it can wait, branch, text, email, call, create a task and update the record without a developer. Missed-call text-back sends a text to anyone whose call went unanswered. It's one setting, and it is the feature we'd keep if we could keep one. The conversations inbox puts texts, emails, Facebook and Instagram messages, Google chat and web chat in one thread per person. A receptionist checks one app. Support answers at any hour.

What GoHighLevel gets wrong
The website builder. It's slow to work in and slow to load. The templates get a site live, and they work, and we used them for years, but they don't look like a site anyone chose. A GoHighLevel page loads the whole builder runtime, its tracking and its fonts on every page, so even a plain landing page carries weight a static page doesn't. We now design landing pages and sites in Claude Code and Claude Design, host them as plain HTML, and post every form, calendar and chat widget into GoHighLevel. The visitor gets a fast page that looks designed, and the business gets the same CRM, workflows and follow-up as before. The FAQ explains how the embed works.
The second fault is the learning curve. GoHighLevel has a setting for nearly everything, and a new account has every setting at its default. A business owner who signs up alone will spend the first fortnight working out which of the menus matter.
Is GoHighLevel worth it?
For a business that takes enquiries by phone, form or message and loses some of them to slow follow-up, yes, on the Starter plan, and the missed-call text-back alone covers the fee in most trades. For an agency with more than three clients, yes, on Unlimited, because the software cost stops growing with the client list. For a one-person consultancy with a handful of leads a month, no. A free CRM and a calendar link will do.
Is GoHighLevel HIPAA compliant?
Not by default. HighLevel's own HIPAA page and its help-centre article say the platform becomes compliant only when the agency buys the HIPAA module, which was $297 a month on 2 November 2026, and signs a Business Associate Agreement with HighLevel. The module adds encryption, access controls, audit logs and the documentation an audit asks for. On the Enterprise plan it's included.
A clinic or a therapy practice can run on GoHighLevel with the module. A plain Starter account is not enough. Any plan can start on the 14-day trial and add the module before the first patient record goes in. Budget the module, sign the BAA before the first patient record goes in, and keep protected health information out of text messages. The module does not make a text private on the patient's phone.
GoHighLevel white label and SaaS mode
White label means your clients log into the software under your name and logo, at your domain, and never see the word HighLevel. The desktop web app can be white-labelled on any plan. The mobile app is a separate add-on at $497 a month, because Apple and Google publish it as your own app.
SaaS mode, on the Founder plan, goes further. You set plans and prices in a configurator, connect Stripe, and sell the software from your own pricing page. When someone buys, GoHighLevel creates their sub-account, their user and their permissions, bills them through your Stripe, and locks the account if they stop paying. Text and call usage is rebilled through your account with your markup. Agencies use it to turn a marketing retainer into a software subscription the client is less likely to cancel.
What is LeadConnector?
LeadConnector is GoHighLevel with the name removed. When an agency resells the platform, the client's mobile app in the App Store is called LeadConnector, the email service is LC Email, the phone system is LC Phone, and the form embed code points at leadconnectorhq.com. Anyone who searches "lead connector login" is usually a client of an agency looking for the app their agency set them up on.
The practical consequence for a business owner: if you've been given a LeadConnector login, you are on GoHighLevel, everything in this guide applies, and the agency who gave it to you controls the account. Ask who owns the sub-account before you build your contact list in it.
GoHighLevel vs HubSpot, ClickFunnels and the alternatives
GoHighLevel vs HubSpot
HubSpot starts free and grows into a suite priced by seat and by contact, and the sales, marketing and service hubs are sold separately. GoHighLevel charges one flat fee for everything with unlimited contacts and users. HubSpot's reporting, its content tools and its ecosystem of integrations are deeper. GoHighLevel's texting, calling, booking and review management are built in where HubSpot needs add-ons. A company with a sales team of twenty and a marketing department picks HubSpot. A local business or an agency with local clients picks GoHighLevel.
GoHighLevel vs ClickFunnels
ClickFunnels is a funnel builder first, with a CRM and email added in its later versions. GoHighLevel is a CRM and messaging platform first, with a funnel builder added. If the product is a course or an info product sold through a launch, ClickFunnels' page builder is better to work in. If the product is a service booked by phone or form, GoHighLevel's follow-up is the part that matters and ClickFunnels doesn't have it.
GoHighLevel vs Kajabi
Kajabi is for selling courses, memberships and coaching, and its course player and checkout are better than GoHighLevel's. GoHighLevel has courses and communities as a feature, not as the product. A creator picks Kajabi. A creator who also runs a service business can get both from GoHighLevel at one price.
GoHighLevel vs ActiveCampaign and Keap
Keap and ActiveCampaign: both are email and automation tools with CRMs attached, and ActiveCampaign's email editor and deliverability tooling are stronger. Neither includes a website builder, calendars, two-way texting, calling or reputation management.
The free alternatives
There isn't a free GoHighLevel. A free CRM, a free booking link and a free email tool will cover a business under a few leads a week, at the cost of nothing talking to anything. An open-source stack can be assembled, and someone has to maintain it.
GoHighLevel free trial
Every GoHighLevel plan starts with 14 days free with full access to the features of the plan you chose. Billing starts automatically when the 14 days end unless you cancel, so a payment method is taken at sign-up and the trial is the time to decide.
Start your 14-day free trial of GoHighLevel
Use the fortnight on the three things that decide whether the software earns its fee. Import your contacts and watch one enquiry travel from the form to the inbox to the pipeline. Switch on missed-call text-back and ring your own number. Build one workflow that sends a text one minute after a form and an email the next morning.
If you'd rather we set it up, our set-up service builds the account, the workflows and a site that posts into it, and you keep the account.
GoHighLevel affiliate program
HighLevel pays affiliates 40% of the monthly subscription of every account they refer, for as long as the account pays. On the Starter plan that is $38.80 a month per referral; on Unlimited, $118.80. The programme is run through the affiliate portal linked from gohighlevel.com/affiliates, and the agreement there sets the rules on how you may promote it, including whether you can run paid search on the brand name. Read the agreement before spending on ads.
We are an affiliate. The trial links on this page carry our referral code, and if you sign up through them HighLevel pays us a share of your subscription. The price you pay is the same either way.
GoHighLevel training and certification
HighLevel runs its own certification programme as a $97-a-month add-on, with an admin certification at the end of it. The free material is in the help centre, the YouTube channel and the weekly office-hours calls, and most agencies learn the platform from those and from the snapshot they bought.
The fastest way to learn GoHighLevel is to build one sub-account for a real business from a blank account: the pipeline, the forms, the calendar, one missed-call workflow and one review-request workflow. That takes a working day, and at the end of it the menus make sense. The certification is worth it for an agency selling set-up as a service, because clients ask.
GoHighLevel status and outages
HighLevel publishes live uptime at status.gohighlevel.com. On 3 November 2026 the page showed app.gohighlevel.com at 99.99% uptime, with the most recent incident on 2 November 2026, when contact imports stuck in processing for some accounts before being resolved. Workflows, calendars, forms and the conversations inbox each showed 99.99% or 100%.
If GoHighLevel seems down, check the status page before the help desk. Most "is GoHighLevel down" moments we've seen were a single service, usually email sending or a specific integration, while the rest of the platform ran.
Frequently asked questions
GHL is Go High Level, the three initials of the product name. Inside the industry people say GHL out loud, write HighLevel when they mean the company, and type gohighlevel when they want the website. The software, the company and the three abbreviations all refer to the same platform, HighLevel Inc. of Dallas, Texas.
Yes. HighLevel Inc. is a Dallas company founded in 2018 that sells software by subscription. Its own site reported 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot from over a thousand reviews as of August 2025. We have paid for it every month since it launched and run our clients' lead handling on it. The "is it legit" question usually comes from the volume of affiliates promoting it on YouTube. The marketing is louder than the product. The product is a CRM with messaging and automation attached, and it does what the pricing page says.
No. A pyramid scheme pays you for recruiting, and GoHighLevel pays nobody for recruiting. It sells a software subscription, and it runs an ordinary affiliate programme that pays 40% of a referred subscription, the same model as web hosts and email tools. The confusion comes from agencies who resell GoHighLevel under their own name through SaaS mode and from affiliates who promote the affiliate programme itself. Both are legal and both are optional. You can buy a Starter account, never refer anyone and never resell anything.
HighLevel Inc., a private company. Shaun Clark, Varun Vairavan and Robin Alex founded it in 2018, and the head office is at 1801 N. Lamar Street, Suite 600, Dallas, Texas. It is not publicly traded, so there is no share price and the revenue figures that circulate are estimates from outside the company.
No. The cheapest plan is Starter at $97 a month, or $970 a year, and there is a 14-day free trial before the first charge. There is no free tier after the trial. Usage charges for phone numbers, calls, texts, emails and AI are billed on top of the plan.
Yes. HighLevel's pricing page says billing begins automatically at the end of the free trial unless you cancel. A payment method is taken at sign-up. Usage fees for phone and text can also be charged during the trial. Put a reminder in your calendar for day twelve.
From the dashboard. HighLevel is month to month with no contract, and the pricing page says you can cancel from your account at any time. Export your contacts first, because a cancelled account's data isn't yours to fetch later. If an agency gave you your login, the account is theirs, and cancelling is a conversation with the agency, not with HighLevel.
Sub-accounts, and rebilling. Starter, at $97 a month, includes three sub-accounts. Each sub-account is one business. Unlimited, at $297, removes the cap and lets you rebill phone and email usage to clients at cost. Both include unlimited contacts and unlimited users. A single business never needs Unlimited. An agency needs it at the fourth client.
There are usage fees, and they're published rather than hidden. The plan covers the software. Phone numbers, outbound calls, text messages, emails sent and AI features are charged by use at rates on HighLevel's usage pricing page. For a local business sending a few hundred texts and a few thousand emails a month, that comes to a few dollars. For an agency running Voice AI across twenty clients, check the usage bill every month.
A sub-account is one business inside your GoHighLevel account, with its own contacts, phone numbers, calendars, workflows, websites and users. An agency has one sub-account per client. A business with two locations can have one per location. Starter allows three, Unlimited and Founder allow as many as you want.
A snapshot is a copy of a sub-account's set-up without its contacts: the pipelines, forms, calendars, workflows, email templates and funnels. Load a snapshot into a new sub-account and the new client starts with everything built. HighLevel provides a library of them by industry, agencies sell their own, and we keep one per vertical we work in.
Yes. Inbound and outbound calling is on every plan, with call recording and call tracking numbers. The power dialer calls down a list. Calls and numbers are billed by use. The phone system is sold to clients as LC Phone, the LeadConnector name.
Yes. Email campaigns, templates, a drag-and-drop editor and automated sequences through workflows are on every plan, sent through LC Email, HighLevel's own sending service, with the option to connect your own SMTP provider. Emails sent are a usage charge. A dedicated sending IP is a $59-a-month add-on for high-volume senders.
Yes. The funnel and website builder publishes pages on your own domain, with hosting included, and WordPress hosting is an add-on from $10 a month per site for businesses that already have a WordPress site. We don't use the builder for client sites, for the reasons in the review above, and we host pages elsewhere and post their forms into GoHighLevel.
Yes. Every form, calendar and the chat widget has an embed code, an iframe or a script tag, and it works on any page on any host. The form submits into the sub-account and fires the same workflows as a page built inside GoHighLevel. That's how we run our clients: a fast static site we designed, with GoHighLevel behind every form.
For the daily work, yes. The inbox, the pipeline and the calendar are no harder than any CRM. The set-up is the hard part. A new account has every setting at its default and more menus than any one business needs, and the first fortnight goes on finding out which ones matter. Start from a snapshot or have someone build the account, and the difficulty disappears.
Yes, on Starter. Sub-accounts, rebilling, white label and SaaS mode are agency features, and they sit in menus you'll never open. What's left is a CRM, a booking calendar, two-way texting, email, review requests and automated follow-up for $97 a month. The businesses we run on it are gyms, clinics, climbing centres, electricians, sports facilities and therapists, none of them agencies.
Marketing agencies, who were the first customers, and the local service businesses those agencies serve: gyms and fitness studios, dental and medical clinics, real estate agents and brokerages, law firms, HVAC and electrical contractors, cleaning companies, restaurants, salons and coaches. HighLevel's own site claimed over two million businesses on the platform in 2026.
Yes. HighLevel runs an MCP server, listed on its status page as GHL MCP. Through it Claude reads and writes contacts, conversations, calendars and opportunities with the account's API key. The REST API covers the rest. We run our outreach reply agent and our hourly lead sync through those two routes. Workflows have no API, so building a workflow still means clicking through the builder.
Yes, a REST API with webhooks. API access is included on the Unlimited plan and above. The documentation is at highlevel.stoplight.io. Inbound webhooks let any form or system post a contact into a workflow. That is how we feed leads from websites hosted elsewhere.
Yes. Zapier and Make both have GoHighLevel connectors, and GoHighLevel's own integrations cover Google Business Profile, Google Calendar and Outlook, Facebook and Instagram messaging and lead ads, Stripe, PayPal and other payment providers, QuickBooks, Shopify and WordPress. Anything without a native connector goes through webhooks.
status.gohighlevel.com shows each service separately and lists open incidents. On 3 November 2026 the page showed every service online and the app at 99.99% uptime. When one feature stops, it's usually one service, such as email sending, while the rest of the platform runs.
Only with the HIPAA module, $297 a month, and a signed Business Associate Agreement. Without both, HighLevel's own HIPAA page says the platform is not compliant. The Enterprise plan includes the module. Clinics and therapists on Starter or Unlimited need the add-on before patient information goes in.
SaaS mode, on the Founder plan at $497 a month, lets an agency sell GoHighLevel as its own software. You set the plans and prices, connect Stripe, and a customer who buys from your pricing page gets a sub-account created automatically, is billed through your Stripe, and has their text and call usage rebilled with your markup. If they stop paying, the account locks itself.
A working day for one business if you know the platform: pipeline, forms, calendar, phone number, missed-call text-back, one follow-up workflow and one review-request workflow. A fortnight for a business owner learning it alone. A snapshot cuts either to an hour of changing names and numbers.
$97 a month on Starter, or $970 for the year, plus a few dollars of usage. That price includes three sub-accounts and unlimited contacts and users, so a business with two locations pays the same. The add-ons most single businesses consider are the AI Employee at $50 or $97 a month and, for a clinic, HIPAA at $297.
Yes. The web app can carry your name, logo and domain on any plan. Your clients log into your software. The mobile app under your own name costs $497 a month and goes through Apple's and Google's review as your app. SaaS mode sells the white-labelled software by subscription and needs the Founder plan.
40% of the referred account's subscription, paid monthly for as long as the account stays paid. That's $38.80 a month for a Starter referral and $118.80 for Unlimited. Sign-up and the promotion rules, including the policy on brand-name paid search, are in the affiliate agreement at gohighlevel.com/affiliates.
Because the website builder is one feature of fifteen, and the other fourteen are what a business pays for. The builder makes slow pages that look like templates. The CRM, the inbox, the calendars, the texting and the workflows are the best we've used at the price. So we build the site elsewhere and put GoHighLevel behind every form on it, and the client gets both.
